Privacy Policy

PixWrench’s tools work on your own device, so your images never reach us. This policy explains the small amount of other data involved in running a free, ad-supported website, and how to control it.

Effective October 8, 2026

Summary

  • Your files stay with you. Processed on your device. Your photos are never uploaded. PixWrench’s code runs on your device. We don’t receive your files, file names or their contents.
  • No accounts. We never ask who you are, and there is nothing to sign up for.
  • Ads pay for the site. Google and its partners may use cookies to show and measure ads, including personalized ads where you agree.
  • Only settings are saved on your device, such as your color theme and tool preferences. Never your images, file names or QR content.

Who we are

This website, pixwrench.com (“PixWrench”, “we”, “us”), is operated by Infinity Square Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16880965), with its registered office at 483 Green Lanes, London, N13 4BS, United Kingdom. Infinity Square Labs Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us about privacy at privacy@pixwrench.com.

Your images and what you type

Every PixWrench tool runs as code inside your browser tab. When you choose, drop or paste a file, your browser reads it from your device; the image is decoded, changed and encoded again in background threads (Web Workers) on your device, and the result is saved back to your device when you download it. The file, its contents, its name and its metadata are not sent to our servers, and we have no copy to store, scan or delete.

The same applies to text you type, such as a web address, Wi-Fi password or contact details in the QR code generator, or a watermark caption. It is used on the page and isn’t transmitted, stored or written into download file names.

We say “not sent to us” rather than “invisible to everything”: like any website with ads, our pages also load advertising and analytics scripts in the same tab. Those scripts are separate from the tools, and the tools never pass your files or text to them, but we don’t claim they are technically walled off. The how it works page explains how you can verify the network behavior yourself.

If you click “Open in OpenStreetMap” in the metadata viewer, the coordinates from that photo are sent to openstreetmap.org as part of the link you chose to open. Nothing is sent unless you click it.

Codec downloads

Some tools download extra code from our own website the first time you use them, such as image codecs (compiled WebAssembly files) or the HEIC decoder. These files are the same for every visitor and the requests contain nothing about your images.

Hosting and security logs

The site is a set of static files served by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical request data such as IP address, browser type, the address requested and the time. We don’t use this to identify visitors. Cloudflare handles it under its own privacy policy.

Analytics

We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn’t use cookies, to count page views, referring sites and broad device, browser and country information. If we measure how tools are used, we record only event names and broad ranges (for example “1 to 10 MB” or “5 files”), never file names, image contents, metadata values or anything you type.

Advertising and cookies

PixWrench is free because some pages show ads served by Google AdSense. Ads appear only in labeled spaces below or beside the content, never inside a tool, next to a download button or on legal pages.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our visitors based on their visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. If you opt out, or don’t consent, you may still see non-personalized ads, which can still use cookies or similar technologies for frequency capping, aggregated reporting and fraud prevention.
  • For more on how Google uses data, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

To deliver and measure ads and detect invalid activity, Google may process technical data such as your IP address, device identifiers and cookie IDs. The cookie policy lists what may be set.

Visitors from the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area and Switzerland are asked for consent before advertising cookies or similar technologies are used, through a Google-certified consent management platform. You can accept, reject or choose by purpose and vendor, and change your choice later from the privacy settings link shown with the message or by clearing this site’s cookies. Visitors in US states with privacy laws may see a notice about opting out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising. Every tool works the same whatever you choose, and with an ad blocker.

If you email us

We receive your email address, message and any attachments, and use them only to reply and resolve your request. We keep correspondence as long as needed for that, normally no longer than two years, unless the law requires otherwise. Please don’t email us photos you want processed: the tools never need us to see them.

Legal bases (UK GDPR)

  • Consent: advertising cookies and personalized ads where consent is required.
  • Legitimate interests: running and securing the site, cookieless analytics, non-personalized ads that fund the free service, and answering messages.
  • Strictly necessary storage: remembering a theme or tool setting you choose.

Sharing and international transfers

We don’t sell personal data. The organizations that process data in connection with the site are Cloudflare (hosting and analytics) and Google (advertising) and, where you consent, Google’s advertising partners. Some process data outside the UK, including in the United States, under safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses with the UK addendum. We may disclose information if the law requires it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for access to, correction or erasure of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to restrict or stop processing based on legitimate interests, request portability, and withdraw consent at any time. Email privacy@pixwrench.com and we’ll respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or to your local data protection authority if you are in the EEA. We’d appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Children

PixWrench is a general-audience utility and isn’t directed at children. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this policy when the way the site works changes, and note significant changes in the changelog. Effective date: October 8, 2026.
