Terms of Use
Plain-language terms for a free set of image tools that run on your own device.
Agreement
These terms apply when you use pixwrench.com (“PixWrench”), operated by Infinity Square Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16880965), registered office 483 Green Lanes, London, N13 4BS, United Kingdom. By using the site you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
The service
PixWrench provides free tools for working with images: compressing, resizing, cropping, rotating, converting, removing metadata, redacting, watermarking, making PDFs, QR codes and favicons. The tools run in your web browser. We may add, change or remove tools and features at any time, and we don’t guarantee the site will always be available or work in every browser.
There are no accounts and no fees. The site is funded by advertising, as described in the privacy policy.
Your images and content
Your files and anything you type remain yours. Because processing happens on your device, we don’t receive, store or claim any rights in them. You are responsible for having the right to use, edit and share the images you work with, and for keeping your own copies: we have nothing we could restore if a download goes wrong.
Acceptable use
Please don’t use PixWrench to break the law or infringe anyone’s rights, to create or distribute unlawful content, or to disrupt the site (for example by automated requests that overload it, or by attempting to interfere with its code or the ads that fund it). Don’t misrepresent PixWrench output as something it isn’t: a watermark is a visible mark, not a form of copy protection, and a blurred area is not guaranteed to be unrecoverable unless you use a solid fill.
QR codes
QR codes made with PixWrench are static: the content is encoded in the code itself, and PixWrench doesn’t host redirects or track scans. You are responsible for the content you encode and where a code points. Don’t make codes for phishing, malware, scams or anything unlawful. A code keeps working only as long as its destination does, and we can’t change a code after it has been printed.
Open-source components
PixWrench uses open-source software, listed with its licenses on the licenses page. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licenses. In particular, the HEIC decoder (libheif and libde265) is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License version 3: it is delivered as separate files from a stable address on this site, and you may replace it with a modified version in a copy of the site, and reverse-engineer the parts of PixWrench that work with it for the purpose of debugging such modifications, as that license allows.
The PixWrench name, logo, site design and written content belong to Infinity Square Labs Ltd. You may link to any page freely.
Disclaimer
The tools are provided “as is”. We test them carefully, but image processing depends on your browser, device and files, and results can differ from what you expect. Check your output before relying on it, especially for anything important such as documents you submit, prints you pay for or codes you print in quantity. Guides and explanations are general information, not professional advice.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Infinity Square Labs Ltd is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or business, arising from use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep all your statutory rights.
Changes
We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page, with its effective date, and significant changes are noted in the changelog.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EEA, you may also have the protection of the mandatory laws of your home country. Questions: hello@pixwrench.com.
